This is my press release that will hopefully encourage even more people to support the British Heart Foundation….
Dawn Campbell, from Mayenne, France is about to take on the challenge of a lifetime – by becoming a Heart Runner in the Great North Run to help raise vital funds for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
Dawn, aged 47, a Holistic Health Practitioner and herself a raw veggie, will be donning her official BHF Heart Runners vest and running the half marathon on 19/9/10. She is hoping to raise as much money as possible, ideally £500.00, to help the charity beat heart and circulatory disease – the UK’s biggest killer.
Dawn says: “This is my first event in over ten years but I decided to take part for two reasons. Firstly, I want to do something tangible so raising money for such a worthy cause seems a great idea. Second, running a marathon is on my list of things to do before I hit fifty. Consequently, the Great North Run seemed like a good place to start. Being a life long veggie and a living foods practitioner on a 99% raw diet, I really want to prove to myself and others that it’s possible to get fitter as you get older if you’re on the right diet. However, like many people, exercise has often been a lower priority; at least it has always been the weak link in my own health protocol. So cracking this mind over matter issue once and for all and releasing the runner inside me, will be a major personal achievement!

Nancy Prior, Head of Events at the British Heart Foundation said: “Thanks to Dawn for joining the British Heart Foundation’s Heart Runners team – with support like this we really can beat heart disease together.”
Far too many people die prematurely from heart disease and, for those that survive; life can be frightening and hard. All funds raised by the Heart Runners team will help ensure the BHF can continue to save thousands of lives through our groundbreaking research and innovative prevention and care work.
