Purple Protein Shake Recipe

On April 27, 2011, in Raw food recipes, by Dawn

This protein shake recipe is an interesting yet nutritious ‘breakfast’ for those of you who like us favour consuming only fruit and or vegetable based juices and smoothies for breakfast.

We love smoothies, they are super quick to make, they can be cold, thick, creamy and delicious, as well as being a nutritious treat.  They’re also easily adapted to suit whatever is freshly available.  Pretty much any smoothie can be made extra thick so it becomes a yoghurt or pudding style meal in a glass.

Today’s smoothie recipe which actually is a protein shake recipe with purple corn extract follows :

  1. Handful of cashew nuts (macadamia nuts do just as well but are far more fattening)
  2. A teaspoon of purple corn extract – cultivated in Peru, it is regarded as a nutritive powerhouse due to its phenolic content and high antioxidant value
  3. 1 teaspoon of MSM (natural sulphur and good for supporting collagen and maintaining healthy joints as its anti-inflammatory)
  4. Splash of Dr Udos oil the ultimate essential formula of 2:1:1 ratio of Omega 3: Omega 6: Omega 9 so good brain food
  5. A scoop of Kikis Nature’s Living Superfood which contains a wide spectrum of nutrients in their natural complex state, including antioxidants, chlorophyll as well as important phytonutrients
  6. A splash of Kikis e3 live liquid blue-green algae which contains chlorophyll, critical for flushing toxins out of our tissues.
  7. Spoonful each of sprouted ground flax seeds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds (and or any other seeds you desire) sprouting them makes them live food, so packed with enzymes.  Seeds also deliver carbs (energy) and are a source of protein
  8. A frozen banana (peeled) known as the sportsman snack for its potassium, fiber, sodium, protein, carbs, calcium, magnesium, minerals and vitamins A & B & C.
  9. Handful of gogi berries a real superfood full of antioxidants, protein and essential minerals
  10. 2 dried apricots (or dates) for natural sweetness.  Also good for reducing high cholesterol, they contain Vit A & C, iron and other essential minerals
  11. Add water and blend to desired consistency.

Serve in tall ice-cream bowls and eat slowly with long spoons.

I hope you all will enjoy this protein shake recipe like my other smoothie recipes and you can check out the below link to know more about purple corn.
