Are you getting your 5 a day?
Even if you are, chances are it’s still not enough to meet your nutritional needs. This is especially true if you’re on a quest for optimal health and who isn’t given the choice!
Choose comes from power and power comes from information. Therefore, I’m offering to support and guide you on your quest for optimal health. I’ll do that by inspiring, educating and encouraging you to raise your game and it all starts with education J
Education falls into two categories. First education of yourself and second, education around food and how it impacts on you and your life style.
I use coaching to feed, stimulate and challenge your mind and I share my range of nutritional based skills to feed your body. Then we’ll marry the two together so you have both the confidence and the knowledge required to finally establish your life style diet. Put another way, a diet that suits your individual life style. Why, because you are your own guru, you just don’t know it J
For the record, when I say diet, I don’t mean diet in the modern sense of the word; I mean a way of eating that suits you and your life style.
By the way, the term 5 a day came about following requests from around the world for the world health organisation (WHO) to set some standards. However, 5 a day primarily reflects what we call a standard American diet (SAD) regardless of which country adopts their pyramid. In my opinion the pyramid simply does not meet the average persons nutritional needs taking into account the quality of the environment them majority of us are exposed to.
This is borne out by the fact that particularly here in the West, we’ve never had so much pre-prepared, packaged, processed items populated with preservatives. To add insult to injury, it’s all heavily promoted with a view to encouraging us to unconsciously pop any old thing that can possibly be disguised as food into our mouths L
Yet at the same time we’re witnessing, on an epidemic proportion, people who are malnourished. It doesn’t matter if you’re fat or thin or anywhere in between, you too may be malnourished and not even know it. We’ll explore why, what you can do about your nutritional needs and what 5 a day really means later and more importantly, how you can do better.
